I find it odd that a comment which is quite valid was lamed into non-existence, whilst another comment saying the same thing was chubbied pretty good. It's not like the second was incredibly written or anything, it was just a fairly arbitrary decision. Is saint just a pretty good guy?

Also I mean come on like Ray would eat that broccoli.
tetsujin » pro 3 years ago
He's not eating it, he's just -tasting- it. Tasting it leaves it still quite edible in a practical sense, but no one wants to because you've slobbered all over it.

he's not. as a seasoned viewer, i will inform you that broccoli and lolcats is something of a theme:

Hold your cursor over the image (or right-click on the image and choose Properties) at www.Achewood.com, not at m.Assetbar.com/achewood.

You cannot (as far as I know) view the alt-text in Acheworld (this discussion forum). However, if you view the comic strip on the regular Achewood page and hold your mouse still over the comic strip for a few seconds, a small text box will appear near the cursor.

Where did the meme "im on/in yr ******, stealing your ****" come from? I see it online a lot these days...
biddlebubbly » neu 3 years ago
The original was "I'm in ur base, killin ur doods" I believe it came from some other meme involving a command and conquer match. It's a pretty uninteresting story really.
songbirdspectre » neu 3 years ago
well, there is a lovely website called I Can Has Cheezburger featuring a wide variety of images of cats with captions. These captions have poor spelling and grammar, and generally reference "I'm in ur base, killin ur doods" or other currently popular internet/gaming phrases.

Today is only the 8th where I am. Why so early?
lateadopter » neu 3 years ago
It appeared on the 7th here. The only possible conclusion is that Onstad was badly stung by [rl=http://m.assetbar.com/achewood/uua7sb5sZ#comment_103]dirkd23's comment[/url] a month ago. Everyone knows that Onstad reads these comments and follows our orders. Publishing two days early is clearly his way of saying "Fuck you, too," to his insolent readers, only with subtlety and class.

That, or it was done early and he had plans for Sunday night.

This is basically the cat equivalent of Suicide Girls. Roast Beef caught Ray whoring his ass out. Ray couldn't have been more ashamed if he'd been caught exposing his lack of harbls.

Suicide Girls is ridiculous; all talkin' about challenging standards of beauty by posting hot chicks with tattoos SO EDGY.

apocowarg » pro 1 years ago
The caveman in me loves the naked women but the sensible man in me finds their mission statement and pretension ridiculous.
rowboat » pro 1 years ago
I never in my life thought that this would ever be necessary, but something I enjoy is under attack so here goes:

I, rowboat, proclaim that Suicide Girls causes boners. So what if their mission statement is trite tripe? At the end of the day one must only ask him or herself one question - "Has this website, which has been categorically designed to give boners, given me a boner?" For those in the world who enjoy naked women, I think the answer is a resounding "yes."* Let us ask no more of it. Thank you.

* - Except, perhaps, the goth chicks wearing cheesy bat wings or some shit and with, like, twenty piercings per lady part. Mega-nasty, that.
apocowarg » pro 7 months ago
True. Time spent reading any words on Suicide Girls= 4 minutes. Time spent with boner= I really should have stopped a sentence ago.

the most heartbreaking part is that beef doesn't look sad because ray yelled at him, he looks sad because he is thinking ray is right and he is actually stupid.

beef is sad because he has unknowingly wronged a friend.

projectyl » pro 3 years ago
The look on his face in the picture, though... My dear God.

He is an entity of spite and spite alone in that moment. He knows that licking that broccoli will hurt you badly, and he's doing it anyway while looking right at you. He probably held it up right in front of his face for a full thirty seconds before that picture, moving it closer and closer to his tongue, all the while only inches from you, never losing eye contact.

I don't know what his other hand is doing. I don't intend to.

lateadopter » neu 3 years ago
"Entertaining bluesmen in hell" is an event from Achewood history; it raked up good memories and made me laugh. Broccoli-eating on a rival's couch is just random shit that's got nothing to do with nothing.

I'd say the former is an excellent example of how lolcats-things could be funny, in contrast to the usual level of humor and insight in lolcats that Onstad is satirizing (such as a broccoli head on a couch might think up).

Or maybe I'm just defensive about giving one of those 90 chubbies, now that you pointed out the irony.

A: Dog doesn't like broccoli.

Also I can't believe anyone still thinks "lolcats" are funny, image macros are like bumperstickers the most a reasonable person can ever expect from one is a single shocked chuckle (and only if it is a transcendentally funny one) and then every subsequent time you see it you should have the same vaguely angry/depressed reaction.

I love the fact that the text on Ray's "lolcat" picture is so poorly done - instead of using a stroke/fill with the lettering he has merely typed it large in black, then layered smaller white text on top of that. That's what happens when you force yourself to forget everything you know about computers.

Still, shame on Ray for doing that to Beef. Shame on him.
