At the 7th inning stretch, guess what Davide does.
overmedicated » neu 2 years ago
Gets the mad munchies?
straw » neu 1 years ago
You're just not the same since you changed icons.

But Milkman Dan is the shit.

Just sayin.
goocifer » neu 1 years ago
Gets grilled and eaten with some risotto and some crispy stellas by the rest of the team. There's probably enough of him for everyone.
scorpio_nadir » neu 6 months ago
He's a pigeon. He does what they all do in ballparks.
afastidioushat » pro 2 years ago
Stoned Lightning is an excellent slow pitch softball team name. It's like a beer league with a better chance of someone getting nailed in the face by a softball but feeling good about it.
ford » neu 1 years ago
I need to find a decent beer league. This is the only way i can see myself playing sports, if i get to be all Arty Lange about it.
dropkickpikachu » neu 1 years ago
This comment was prophecy and you didn't even know it.

I'm assuming this comment was made the day this strip came out, right? I'm not one such as a historian on assetbar.
nyu » neu 2 years ago
Hilarious! Nightlife Mingus could be the manager.
science » neu 2 years ago
The pic is also very similar to the 4th panel in this strip. Credit to you for pointing out the reference, but "got to reuse"? Do people say Coppola "got to reuse" Pacino in Godfather II?
cashprizes » neu 2 years ago
good one. though i kind of feel like that by number 3.
scramblesthedog » neu 2 years ago
No, but people say that sitcoms "got to reuse" flashback footage in their clip shows of later seasons.
science » pro 2 years ago
True enough. So we'll go with thanks for pointing out the reference. I would have otherwise missed it.
lyss » pro 2 years ago
"This is hideous!"; I submit that this replace such distasteful slang such as "this is WICKED!"
slaaaaabs » pro 2 years ago
Gooooo Nugs!
2kings » neu 2 years ago
This is hideous!!
i love everything ray says!
theoneyouwant » neu 2 years ago
charcoal grill AND a beer cooler at each base.
donsoze » pro 2 years ago
I love the attention paid to the process of getting stoned. Lesser writers would have gone straight from bong to "Slow pitch softball!"
wae » neu 2 years ago
i feel like i'm right there with him, making that decision based on those circumstances
trebuchet » neu 2 years ago
I am tremendously excited about the baseball ringer t that will surely come out of this strip.
londoncatfish » pro 2 years ago
dang straight. i'm prayin' this logo gets the t-shirt treatment.
grayfox » pro 2 years ago
I concur.
brian » neu 2 years ago
if it doesn't i might have to make a bootleg copy of my own. i have technology, don't push me, onstad.
closefriend » pro 2 years ago
This is going to go swimmingly until the match against the Coked-Up Hurricane.
threebong » pro 2 years ago
Classic Ray.
supernintendochalmers » neu 2 years ago
good ol ray
wolfslice » neu 2 years ago
Teodor's ramble in panel 6 is my favorite thing about this strip. I've comitted it to memory.
hotttcarl » pro 2 years ago
How long before we see Stoned Lightning shirts in the store?
raccoon » neu 2 years ago
I MUST HAVE A STONED LIGHTNING T-SHIRT PLEASE.

I AM NAMED DAVIDE AND I AM STONED AND I AM LIGHTNING.
tekende » neu 1 years ago
AND WE ARE ALL TOGETHER
doctorother » pro 2 years ago
There is absolutely no other appropriate name for such a mascot.
fuckyoufriday » neu 2 years ago
Stoned Lightning sounds like a sweet band.
alzuna » neu 1 years ago
I can clearly hear a guy yelling it all in a screechy 80's hair metal voice.
fineoakstructure » neu 8 months ago
You sure you're not imagining John Travolta screaming "why it's GREASED LIGHTNING!"?
alzuna » neu 7 months ago
Maybe, but that's more like zealous singing, not really that 'metal I'm gonna smash some guitars after I finish this verse yell' you know?
misterwolf » pro 2 years ago
I have been known to design the odd logo for pay. Every night I get on my knees and pray to God that someone will come and ask me to design something like that.

Tedore is a lucky bastard.
dianahamilton » pro 2 years ago
Ray saying "i want to play with that little psycho and learn his name" makes me extremely uncomfortable
pascal » pro 2 years ago
Honestly know, if Onstad made this a shirt, how many of us would buy enough to start our own sports teams?
fosters » neu 1 years ago
Perhaps you opinion was lame? Just going out on a limb here.
satellitetv » neu 2 years ago
Oh, the dawning realization of slow pitch softball.
mortshire » pro 2 years ago
i get pretty excited imagining ray going coming up to me, stoned as all, and whispering into my ear gently, softly:"DAH-vi-day."
billyamericana » neu 2 years ago
I can't say that my first reaction to a little psycho is to play with him. But Davide is not your normal little psycho - he's got the look of a thrilled Snowball snack cake.
krautdog » pro 2 years ago
This gets a "5" just for "we can do whatever in hell we want! This is LIFE!" I think people should have this tattoo instead of a jaguar ripping the skin.
huber » pro 2 years ago
YES! this is LIFE! was the true gem in that strip. It is just further proof that Ray is the true spirit of Tao in the modern age.
cailetshadow » neu 1 years ago
And maybe under the text is a little image of a Tonka dumptruck, just completely tipping over into a sinkhole.
cpnglxynchos » neu 1 years ago
spinynorman » neu 1 years ago
Or a goddamn swallow.

I swear to god, I see more swallows flitting across kids' skin than under an overpass over a goddamn river

How come you kids are so GOD DAMNED stupid and just the stupidest thing every SINGLE SECOND OF THE GOD DAMNED DAY
huber » pro 2 years ago
But yeah, rad strip, rad
shayne » neu 2 years ago
Imagine what that chick in your class who has a different colour of glasses every couple of weeks is going to say when she sees you in the form-fitting T that is sure to come from this.
tekende » pro 1 years ago
"That shirt looks good on his body"?
stella » pro 2 years ago
taiiga » neu 1 years ago
Oh my god! Slow pitch softball!
gormster » neu 1 years ago
Why did Ray sound out the name? Surely he pronounced it right the first time?
nutmeg » neu 1 years ago
this strip makes me soooo..... happy.
jackparsons » neu 1 years ago
Nah, the Acid Rangers are known to rule the diamond. Dock Ellis is their patron saint.
nigelchaos » pro 1 years ago
AWESOME reference! Everyone who doesn't know Dock Ellis should look him up and then bow down to Jackparsons!
straw » pro 1 years ago
Baseball is very important to baseball players.
nigelchaos » neu 4 months ago
haha.. I'd like to see *you* pitch a no hitter on acid.
rowboat » pro 1 years ago
OH HELL AND DAMN YES!!

The man's my hero.
straw » pro 1 years ago
I can barely articulate how awesome this is. Maybe if I had more rum...
alzuna » neu 1 years ago
For some reason this seems to go well with the Beastie Boys' Intergalactic, which is on the radio right now.
nigelchaos » pro 4 months ago
that is awesome, rowboat.
gherittwhite » neu 1 years ago
Ray has to sound out DAH-vi-day because "Davide" came out of his mouth as text in a little speech bubble.
em2 » neu 1 years ago
For our benefit. Or maybe just because he's stoned.

mindbnder » neu 1 years ago
All games begin at 4:20.
rowboat » pro 1 years ago
Or not.
dwodles » pro 1 years ago
Every panel is brilliant.
drago25 » pro 1 years ago
If only there were teams like when I was a kid, maybe I wouldn't of turned out this way.
seymourglass » neu 1 years ago
It's always a great feeling when you find out a friend was getting simultaneously high as you.
mattylite » neu 11 months ago
I know it's the most common type of comment in all acheworld to talk about how you've adopted some mannerism of the strip into your day-to-day life. It is now my turn to continue this dubious tradition. I am on a softball team called Stoned Lightning. We suck, and the other achewood fan on my team is the only one who doesn't hate the name.
doctorbeene » neu 6 months ago
I'm proud of that. Talking in front of your non-AW friends about AW usually excludes them and makes you(me) feel like a loner.
doctorbeene » neu 6 months ago
Do you think that Onstad thinks it's lame that we remember Roast beef's birthday? (It was yesterday.)
