My hat is off to you for that wonderful merchandising concept.

This stip is truly the limit.
thesoulbear » neu1 years ago
The best part is Cornelius just being all bamboozled and intrigued by the query in panel 2. He is so bamboozled, he cannot even begin to guess.
valorgigo » pro7 months ago
In these economic times, I too feel that the stip is truly the limit.

Chris, this was the one that really did it for me, way back when. This was the one that got me hooked for life.
A Triumph.

I agree, this strip is impossible to read without wanting to continue on...

How is your mother... genius.

Yeah, this is one of my most-read strips. I love it.
'I cannot begin to guess' is a phrase I now use often.

Notice the gradient on Mr. Bear's hat in the last panel.
dovey » neu1 years ago
There's a gradient in the hat... A GRADIENT IN THE HAT!

This is the same Lyle that later booked Pat with Nice Pete. Look it up.

Too cute.

I really like this strip; my initial response is to wish it had come later. To make a parody of a strip so soon after its conception and before it is fully developed could appear pretentious. However, this strip serves to develop Cornelius Bear's character.
envika » neu2 years ago
I can't imagine Lyle acting that way in 2002.
son_of_selleck » neu2 years ago
ah, so this is where cornelius got his distinctive character from.

Unabashedly fived for "Oh! That is truly the limit."
We all have phrases we have co-opted from Achewood into our personal lexicons. For me, this is one of them.
woodenteeth » neu1 years ago
Although I like the strip it seems people are truly taken aback by lines like "That is truly the limit" and "I cannot begin to guess". Each of which I've heard a number of times from various media sources.
It's because I live in a Colony of Her Majesty isn't it?

Lyle looks very dapper in a suit and tie.

I say, how simply droll.
