I liked Philippe is Standing on It, but this is the one that really got me hooked.

When I first came to Achewood and started working through the archives the previous strips got me warmed up, and this was the one that really smacked home with legitimate laugh out load moment. Stark physical comedy, beautifully done. Kudos, Onstad!

Teodor always makes the greatest expressions!

This is the first strip that I thought was hilarious (though "Bedtime" came close).

I imagine it opening in a slow, laborious process, with heavy mechanical noises. Excited fanfare is blaring. Thunderbird 1 and 2 fly out.

I wonder if this came out of Onstad trying to figure out how to draw Philippe with his mouth open.

This strip reminds me of what I love about Achewood: there are no rules. Onstad can make this joke and then later show Philippe opening his mouth in a different way, and it all just barely hangs together. It works.

I like how Cornelius covers his mouth with both of his little hands. Shock abounds!

This ruins Philippe's innocence completely, now that he's half-shark-half-seal. GROSS

I imagine that when he opens his mouth it makes such a sound as "fwup". Like something that should not be.

then a bustling woman puts her banking in him.

He says "Okay Teodor" and then opens his mouth.

His right lip folds out.

this was i guess just an one-off non-canon joke. funny as all hell though
