I think this is the first strip where it is established that Phillipe is five, but I am unceratain.

I believe this is the first explicit mention, though the shift in characterization can be seen much earlier.

It's interesting how Lyle can be a dick even to a five-year old child.

Most people would be like that after draining a fifth of whiskey.

Reciprocally, Lyle is like that after drinking 5 of whiskey.

I could never get over the fact that Lyle's mostach ALWAYS looked like a oversized mouth to me. I couldn't shake it for ages. Like looking at the vase and not the faces.
