Whenever you die, everything you say is important which is why you have to talk in capitals all the time. I think, anyway.

I think it's just to stop him losing his hands in the folds. Anyone who remembers the shirts their mums used to buy them when the hurricane of puberty first came by will know what this is like.

A bita' metaphysical yoo-mah..

I love the idea of a ghost of a recently departed friend visiting you, and fixing your van. That's like double awesome.
fuckyoufriday » neu2 years ago
How's he going to get the rag inside the truck? Will he pick up the rag's soul?
m3funkyb » neu2 years ago
that must really come in handy
cicadalek » neu2 years ago
I just noticed his paws/hands are still black.
stuart » neu2 years ago
Only here. Second time out it's fixed to match.

"I DON'T REALLY REMEMBER" -- you come back from the dead, and you're still the same irresponsible careless fuckwad you were in real life.
quantumcasaba » neu2 years ago
Also perhaps still stoned.
philosophe » pro2 years ago
This comic would be damn funny if it ended after the 6th panel: "Can you walk through things?" "TOTALLY" (end)
philosophe » pro2 years ago
I do like this one, though. I gave it a 5
umbra » neu2 years ago
yes, he could have been cheap and split this into two strips, but He passes the savings on to us!
envika » pro2 years ago
my thoughts exactly
spinynorman » neu2 years ago
I didn't scroll down at first so that's exactly where I thought it ended.
fineoakstructure » neu1 years ago
In the book it's extremely easy to read it like that, because the first six panels are on one page and you have to flip over to get the "second half" of the strip (it's very easy to miss the "continued..." note in the book).
tekende » neu1 years ago
I used to have this book of Peanuts cartoons that didn't make any damn sense. Some pages would have like two or three panels on them and it was never very clear where one strip ended and another began. It really frustrated me.
snowman » neu2 years ago
i thought that too! this one could have been split into 2 awesome strips.
crinklebat » neu2 years ago
It's funnier if you picture him talking in like the most stereotypical ghosty voice.
fineoakstructure » neu1 years ago
I always picture Blister as sounding very similar to the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future from Aqua Teen...a little less metallic, but a deep voice with serious tones and heavy reverb. And just like the Cybernetic Ghost, such a voice makes colloquialisms likes "TOTALLY" sound so much funnier.
godfatherofsouls » neu2 years ago
i think it was blister that first got me thinking, 'damn, i could really get into this comic'
_cheesekayke » neu2 years ago
How the hell did Blister get into heaven?
anitrophaeron » neu2 years ago
Damn. Do you think Blister does house calls? This just reminded me that my oxygen sensor has needed attention for the last three months or so.
belgand » neu1 years ago
I think I may need to start going to a mechanic that has the undead on staff. This is just far too useful.
tomsonlocal » pro2 years ago
The silence in panel 5 speaks volumes. You meet a friend who has just died, you can ask him about what it felt like to die, what Heaven is actually like and if he spoke to God in the afterlife. More importantly, you could just ask if they are able to walk through things. Magic.
cobra_lionfist » neu1 years ago
I love panel 5 because it features the realization that Todd is smarter than someone.
quarantine » pro2 years ago
Achewood needs more Blister.
gsurge » neu2 years ago
For some reason, the first time I read this, I read it right-to-left. It made just as much sense.
buttermoths » neu2 years ago
The first six panels are indeed quite humorous when read right-to-left. What kind of sense did you make of the last six?
xerol » pro2 years ago
Those must be some tiny tools.
sticks » neu2 years ago
I think Todd ran him over with his van, then changed the name for the song.
em2 » neu2 years ago
The first six panels alone are a five. The next six are just gravy.
beansdooma » neu2 years ago
blister doesnt show up enough any more
coco » neu2 years ago
The silence in panel 5 says everything. I'm sure that if it had been Skamper who came back and not Blister, the awkward silence would have lasted several more panels . . .
snowman » neu2 years ago
MORE BLISTER PLZ THX
mc_white » neu1 years ago
You know you got a good friend when they'll help clean your oxygen sensor from beyond the grave
red-barchetta » pro1 years ago
I love Todd's reaction to Blister going into the van and the changes in the last 4 panels.
phthano » pro1 years ago
Why does he need a rag? He [i]does[i] have a robe, after all.
elzilcho » neu1 years ago
Alright so I know Blister does not have wings. He is dead, but he does not have wings. He has a halo. He has a robe. No wings in his spine.
Yet to this day, when I listen to "Two-Headed Boy, Part Two", I still mix my Anne Frank imagery up with thoughtful meditations on a dead squirrel.
I-it kinda changes the song?
puguglypress » neu1 years ago
I wish that this one was just the first six panels
zeitgeist » pro1 years ago
Magnificent.
It's interesting how this one could work as the first 3, 6, 9, or all 12 panels.
